The ceremony formally marked the relinquishment of command by Commodore Ireneo D. Battung PN and the assumption of Captain Leo C. Dimoc PN(GSC) as Acting Commander of NFEM.

In his farewell message, Battung expressed confidence in the men and women of NFEM, highlighting their dedication and commitment to the Navy’s mission.
“To my successor, I offer not a burden, but a promise: You inherit a command of men and women who are committed, capable, and proud to serve,” Battung said.
A member of the Philippine Military Academy “Maalab” Class of 1993, Battung is set to retire from active military service after 37 years of service to the nation. He held various leadership and command positions throughout his naval career. SoutheastAsians & Pacific Islanders
His turnover marks the end of his tour as NFEM commander as the force continues its mission of maintaining operational readiness and safeguarding the maritime interests of Eastern Mindanao.
The activity concluded with Passing Honors rendered by NFEM floating assets and vessels of the Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) in tribute to Battung and his 37 years of military service.
