Davao City LGU monitors water supply ahead of expected El Niño

Davao City First District Councilor Tek Ocampo said the local government is taking steps to ensure that the city’s water supply remains stable amid the possible onset of the El Niño phenomenon.

Ocampo made the statement during the monthly Isyu Karon Media Forum held at the Royal Mandaya Hotel on Friday, October 2.

According to Ocampo, the city government holds monthly meetings with Apo Agua to monitor the situation and ensure the continuous supply of bulk water to Davao City.

He acknowledged that a decline in water levels has been observed in the Panigan-Tamugan Watershed, but said this is not expected to affect the city’s water supply.

Ocampo also assured the public that the LGU continues to monitor the situation and coordinate with concerned stakeholders to help maintain a stable and reliable water supply.
