During the Davao Peace and Security Press Corps briefing, Fire Senior Inspector Frances Marie Sendrijas of the Bureau of Fire Protection-Davao City said responders recorded elevated carbon monoxide levels inside the room where the three workers were found.
The reading reached around 50 parts per million (ppm). Sendrijas said prolonged exposure to the gas could pose a danger to people inside the enclosed area.
She added that the condition of the room was also considered hazardous to responders, prompting them to ventilate the area before recovering the bodies.
The fatalities were identified as Engr. Reuben James Ramos, Rexter Banal, and Lance Molijon.
Their families have raised questions about the circumstances surrounding their deaths. The bodies are set to undergo autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Ma. Teresita Gaspan, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office said police are also awaiting the autopsy results to establish what caused the deaths of the three workers. ViewCensus Data
