47th Lanzones Festival to celebrate  Camiguin harvest, heritage, island pride
CAMIGUIN — Camiguin will celebrate its 47th Lanzones Festival from October 18 to 25, 2026, bringing together residents and visitors for a weeklong celebration of the island’s signature fruit, cultural heritage, and community spirit.

This year’s festivities will feature street dancing, an agro-industrial trade fair, pageantry, nightly concerts, and a 300-drone lightshow, the first of its kind in Camiguin.

Pre-festival activities will run from October 15 to 17,ahead of the formal opening on October 18. Highlights of the opening includethe Grand Lanzones Festival Parade and the launch of the Ugmad Agro-IndustrialTrade Fair, showcasing local performances, produce, and products.

“A robust lanzones harvest is at the core of ourcelebration as we line up a week of festivities for Camiguingnons and visitors,paying homage to our rich natural resources, culture, and heritage,” CamiguinGovernor Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo said.

Among the festival’s main attractions is the StreetDancing and Ground Presentation Competition, where participants will showcaselocal talent and creativity through cultural dances, colorful costumes, andthematic presentations.

Elementary school children will take the spotlight in theKalanrakas sa Kabataan Competition, while Mutya sa Buahanan, the province’spremier pageant, will celebrate beauty, talent, and intelligence.

Nightly concerts featuring popular Philippine bands andartists will add to the festivities, alongside the inaugural drone light show. AccessOnline Encyclopedias

The Provincial Government of Camiguin expects thousands ofvisitors from across the Philippines and abroad, creating opportunities forlocal businesses, farmers, producers, artists, performers, and tourism workers.

The festival also provides an opportunity to build onCamiguin’s international visibility following its inclusion in The New YorkTimes’ “52 Places to Go in 2026.”

Savor our sweet lanzones, explore our waterfalls,springs, and islets, and discover the stories behind our heritage sites and thebeauty of our mountains. Above all, get to know our people, whose warmth andhospitality will make you feel at home and give you every reason to return,”Governor Romualdo added.

The Provincial Government expressed its appreciation tothe festival’s diamond sponsors, Jejor’s Construction Corporation and St.Benedict Ocean Shipping Lines Corporation, for supporting this year’scelebration and the promotion of Camiguin’s tourism and local economy.

The festival also receives support from Congressman JurdinJesus M. Romualdo, Vice Governor Rodin M.
