Davao City tourist arrivals surpass 1 million, marking third straight year of growth
Tourist arrivals in Davao City continued their upward trend, reaching more than 1 million visitors as of June 2026, according to the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO).

The city recorded 1,045,854 tourist arrivals in June, an 11.68% increase from the 936,474 visitors logged during the same period in 2025. This was also higher than the 816,477 arrivals recorded in June 2024, marking the third consecutive year of growth.

CTOO attributed the sustained increase to improved air connectivity, stronger domestic tourism campaigns, and the city’s growing lineup of events and activities.

Tourism officials are also anticipating another boost in visitor numbers following the recently concluded Kadayawan Festival.

CTOO Head Willenito P. Tormis Jr. said hotels and airlines reported a noticeable surge in bookings and flights during the festival, although consolidated figures were not yet available.

Tormis said the influx reminded industry stakeholders of the strong tourist turnout seen in Davao before the pandemic, with visitors once again showing renewed interest in Kadayawan.

Meanwhile, Davao City maintained its recognition as the top Philippine destination in the World Travel Index’s Best Travel Destinations in the Philippines ranking in April 2026.

The CTOO said it will continue working with tourism stakeholders to strengthen the city’s position as a leading destination while promoting inclusive and sustainable tourism opportunities for Dabawenyos.
