DAVAO CITY — In a gesture of solidarity on Independence Day, Davao City Vice Mayor Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II personally visited families displaced by the recent fire in Barangay 19-B and brought another round of assistance to affected residents.a

Around 110 families remain affected by the blaze, which left hundreds of individuals temporarily sheltered while rebuilding efforts are being arranged.

During his visit on Friday, Vice Mayor Duterte distributed meals, food packs, mineral water, and water containers to the fire victims. The assistance was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Office of the Vice Mayor and the Office of First District Congressman Paolo Duterte.

The Vice Mayor took time to personally interact with residents and assess their immediate needs, assuring them that the local government and its partners continue to monitor their situation and provide support during their recovery.

The latest aid distribution follows ongoing relief efforts initiated by various government offices and community partners since the fire incident. Daily meal services have also been sustained for displaced residents as they remain in temporary shelters.

Representatives from the Office of Congressman Paolo Duterte joined the relief mission, highlighting the continuing coordination between the First Congressional District Office and the Office of the Vice Mayor in extending assistance to affected communities.

Residents expressed gratitude for the continued support, particularly the personal visit of the Vice Mayor during the national holiday, which they said boosted their morale amid the challenges brought by the disaster.

Local officials said relief and recovery efforts for the fire victims will continue as authorities work with concerned agencies to help affected families recover and rebuild their homes.
