The satellite station—which will house a fire truck and an ambulance—is one of the city government's priority projects aimed at bringing emergency medical services and rescue services closer to Dabawenyos living in remote geographically isolated communities in the city.

“One of the fulfillment sa priority project sa atoang halangdo’ng mayor na kining pagserbisyo sa komunidad ilabi na gyud sa kadtong mga kaigsuonan nato nga naa sa mga outskirt nga dili kaayo sila maka access sa downtown area. Kinahanglan nga kita ang mupaduol sa ilaha (This is one of the fulfillment of the our beloved mayor’s priority projects—bringing services closer to communities, especially to our brothers and sisters who are living in the outskirts of the city and have little access to the downtown area. We need to really bring these vital services to them),” Baloran said.
City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, in a message read by Baloran, also emphasized the importance of the city’s consistent efforts in crafting policies and implementing programs in disaster risk reduction and management including risk assessments, prevention and preparedness mechanisms, and mitigation and response strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of every Dabawenyo.
“With Davao City covering a wide land area, it is important that we expand our services to those in remote geographically isolated communities in the city. The construction of the Central 911 Satellite Station in Paquibato District is an important undertaking in our goal to expand the mobility, accessibility, and efficiency in the day-to-day operations of Central 911, and extend vital medical care and rescue needs to communities in Paquibato District and neighboring areas,” he said. Residents of Barangay Malabog expressed their gratitude to the city government for the establishment of a Central 911 substation in their area, which is expected to open early next year.
“Dako g’yud kaayo mi’g kalipay labi na nga diri g’yud ko gianak sa Malabog nakita g’yud nako nga sa una lisod kaayo paglugsong namo, ang pasiyente mamatay gyud kung malayo ang biyahe. Nakita namo sa dakong tabang sa amoang barangay … ug kay City Mayor Baste Duterte sa paghatag niya sa amoa ani nga dako kaayo’ng tabang sa Barangay Malabog (We are very happy, especially that I was born right here in Malabog. I really saw that before, it was very hard for us to go down; the patient would really die if the travel was far. We saw the great help of our barangay … and to City Mayor Baste Duterte for giving us this station which is a very big help to Barangay Malabog),” Imelda Overiz, one of the residents of Barangay Malabog, said.
The upcoming Malabog Central 911 Satellite Substation is the fifth Central 911 substation in the city. Earlier, substations were also established in Barangay Baganihan, in Toril, in Indangan, and in Calinan. The CDRRMO also eyes the establishment of more Central 911 Satellite Substations across the city to better provide vital emergency medical response services to Dabawenyos. CIO
